Does the Network IP number matter on speed?

ok thankfully i already had another internal network card lying around. After a few problems http://www.ntfs.org/forum/showthread.php?postid=349106#post349106 , i was able to check out the speed and found an upload network rate of 9.8mb's per second which is good enough for me . Thank you everyone for your help once again
