Either you didn't install your system with ACPI or your system is not ACPI compatible. You can check that by going to your Device Manager and if it says under Computer "Standard Computer" instead of "Advanced Power Configuration and Interface" then your Comp won't shutdown automatically.

that happened to me aswell is there anyway to install it without installing windows again?

Try going to Power Options in Control Panel and look for a tab called APM.Check off the box and try shutting down.Hope this helps.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
