I just installed a new CD Burner. Acer 24x10x40 and was wondering if anyone could help me. The burner said that it woud not be as fast as it could be unless I went to device manager and checked the DMA tab in the properties part. I can't get that to show with windows XP. What can I do to make sure that my cdrw and dvd player are running max performance.
Thanks
Gob

Device Manager>IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers>Primary IDE and Secondary IDE>Advanced settings.......... Should be obvious from here :D

Thanks Barbarian

That is where it was. I had one set to DMA and one was not. Thanks for all the help.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
