DIVX Problems

Ok I am checking on this for my cousin... so I better give HIS Specs here first...

ECS K7VTA3 Version 2.0 Bios upgraded to version 2.22a
AMD 2100+ XP Processor
Two 60 gig HD at 7200 RPM (not sure on make)
Soundblaster LIVE card
ATI All in wonder Radeon 8500
DVD rom
1.5 gig Ram
WIN XP PRO

ok so here's the mystery.. he has movies encoded with DIVX 5.01 but every time he plays them about 2 min into the flick, it locks up the system... The movies work fine on all other machines, any ideas..??

Oh yea... and we've pulled the live card thinking it might be the dreaded SB LIVE PCI NOISE ISSUE... no luck there...

Get the latest update. and check the encoder preferences

thanks for the reply so quickly, BUT as I said... the movies work fine on all other syystems, and he's using divx 5.01... (the latest)

sorry m8, I dunno what else it could be, your m8 will have to contact divx directly and report the error.

what are you using to play it? if not using any of these, try gdivx, bs player, or the playa. They all work much better with divx than media player

have tried ALL the other players with the same result.
