Dissapearing status bar

Every now and then my status bar at the bottom of internet explorer dissapears, well quite often actually, does anyone else have this problem? and no how i can fix it , its quite annoying having to go view/status bar all the time

running xp with sp1

Open Explorer (not Internet Explorer) then do the view--> status bar. Then under tools--> folder options--> make all folders look like this one (or something like that as I am not on an XP machine at the moment)
