Disney is trying to block Michael Moore's new film

and disney are free to make the choice not to release it ;)

That would be true if Miramax (owned by Disney) hadn't already signed a distrubution deal.

Of course this is purely speculation but in a debate about this a friend and I ended up with a pretty crazy theory. Since the movie doesn't exactly paint President Bush in a good light and Disney World is located in Florida... Bush happens to be the Governor of Florida... Jeb Bush has already shown his propensity to be a idiot and stick his nose in where it doesn't belong (ie preventing a woman from being removed from life support)... it might turn out that Jeb Bush would in one form or another penalize Disney for the insane ramblings of Moore.

I think that is one of the biggest concerns disney has. They are afraid of losing millions of dollars in tax cuts and state aid.

If Disney has the choice to not release it, then that means they are making the choice for everyone.

disney has every right to not release this movie, even if it is to keep their tax breaks...why, they are a busines, and every chance they get, they will try to save a penny...specially if it means not supporting a moron like moor....

I was being sarcastic, imo they shouldnt even be trying to get out of it in anyway shape or form

does it matter if we like him.... does that affect your *choice* to go see the movie taht much or not... who affects you more... some company telling you not to see it, or a friend telling you its good?

Update: The Weinstein brothers (owners of Miramax) have bought the film outright from Disney and will reimburse Disney for everything they spent on the film.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
