Disk Cleanup problem

Whenever I run Disk Cleanup it starts the process and then locks up. It seems to be stuck in the 'old compress files' section. Anyone have any idea how to fix this?

Might be a shot in the dark but maybe try running the disk clean up in safe mode

Probably a file or a folder or a dll is corrupt, I have had problems, I usually run sfc /scannow with XP CD in the tray and have got the problem solved. If not just do a repair installation. I am sure it will correct without touching your saved configurations.
