Read this article (written for NT/2k but applies to XP as well). http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=160963
You will find information in it about chkntfs.exe, a command line utility to exclude drives from chdsk, but also about the relevant registry keys and about chkdsk in general.
It's actually a different function named autoscan.
Disable auto scan:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\ControlSession Manager
On the right side look for (or create the dword value): AutoChkTimeOut
Double Click an set to 0 (zero) to disable.
Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
