Digital Output

Anyone know what the digital output option does on the soundblaster live!. I
have the Creative Inspire 5.1 5300 speakers, which I thought where made for
this card. but that option when turned on turns all the speakers off hmmmm..

Yes i will offer some insight into this.
You have the modern replacement for my set up which is creative live player 5.1 soundcard(true digital output),but your speakers same as mine are analoge output only(mine are cambridge soundworks desktop theatre dt2200).
When i tick digital only output box i8 also hear hissing with miusic just audible at full volume.
Bit of bummer when you dont realise this when purchased,as every new cd player hi-fi has digital speakers.
And before anyone else jumps in telling you otherwise,go to www.creative.com and see.

krux, you will need digital speakers to use the digital output on your soundcard (jellow jack). it would offer slighty better sound.
