Digital Camcorder: What Capture Software to Use?

I got a Panasonic DV51 digital video camcorder. I've been using Windows XP's Home Video Maker, but I was wondering what you XPhiles used for that?

I do virtually all my video editing in Adobe Premiere. But there are cheaper offerings out there, like uLead Video Editor and Micrografix Video Studio

I just got Premiere 6.0. You know any good books that would give me a good run through on it?

I don't know of any books, tho'i'm sure they're out there, but I found the supplied tutorial worth it's weight in gold. Walks you thru' most of the functions that are needed. If I hear about anything else i'll let you know.
