but only if you fall into the whole best in benchmarks ...
or if you plan on doing something like ...
dvd ripping and encoding, or heavy applications that are cpu dependant ..
personally the price of the Athlon XP T'bred 1700 came down LOTS .. it's 113CDN ... if you can go for an athlon xp ... you'd be good for a while without HAVING to upgrade ... Its fast and runnin' at 26C idle ... with stock cooling ...
also the duron is a little harder to cool .. because it has a smaller core ... less transfer area.. the t'bred is the same thing but it runs at a lower voltage so it more than makes up for it
Thanks for the reply,my mobo is an Abit KT7A Raid, and in the manual it states that can only take an Athlon up to 1.2Ghz,mind you it also says Duron up to 850Mhz,I am slightly confused.
Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
