Did I miss this on Universal Plug n Play?

This is the first I have read this and I was curious as I have used the Symantec Security check in the past and it has always reported port 5000 open. Anyway I downloaded and ran it and re-did the security check and now port 5000 is closed.

Since I don't know very much at all about this area - could someone please comment (pro or con) about disabling this??
