Dial-up and voicemail

I'm running a PIII 700 w/ 128 RAM, and I recently updated to WinXP. I have not been able to dial-up to my ISP because when it starts to dial-up, my voicemail pulses, and XP says it cannot find a dialtone. Now, it worked fine under Win98, so I'm wondering if there's a way to let XP look longer for a dialtone or if there is a way to force a dial up even if it doesn't connect a dial tone.
Thx

use pauses which I think are comma's in the dial string.
dial string would = ,,555-1234. If I recall correctly, one comma is 1.5 seconds, I just put two in to be sure. Hope that works.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
