I'm not so sure about these drivers. I got a BSOD out in Halo, but I had no probs with the previous driver releases. I'm going to try it on other games I have with PS and report...

From what I have read they are very buggy , I think its a safer bet to wait till next set and let them mature a little,

Maybe give the new OMEGA's a shot , I like them they work very well for me

The new OMEGA'S can be found here

afaik the det 5x.xx's will all contain universal shader replacement algorithms... generally for the FX gpu's... the det 51.75 already does this...

I am not sure how this is going to affect the dx8 card lineup... and I am not sure if the shader replacement will cause problems with the dx8 cards...

all I know is that it is being looked @ in depth and if I find anything out... I'll let you lads know...

Well, after a couple of days with them, I must say that it wasn't the Halo beta that was the problem. Nearly every program I have that has pixel shaders (Morrowind, tech demos, Aquamark) gives me BSODs on my GF4 Ti 4200. Back to 45.23.

Maybe NVidia can make these drivers more stable, but for now, I'm going to just save up for a Radeon 9800 Pro and a new mobo/processor.

i'm currently using the dets 51.75
seem np with me by runnin ut2k3 n other . . .

yea, same here and im not even using those drivers, im using older ones.

there's something very wrong with omega drivers
I've tried every release and they all give me the same problem

dont know if its my hardware (Ti4200)
I havent tried these drivers on any other machine

could you check this on your machine Kermit ?

start / run " dxdiag "

display ~ test direct3d

it should be a spinning cube
but on my machine its all messed up
no matter what setting I use

thx 2z

Dont know why you get that error, I dont have any problems with the OMEGA's and have used both set up , P + Q

:(

did you see the spinning cube ?

D3D7 Test
D3D8 Test
D3D9 Test

it doesnt report any errors just that the cube is messed up while its spinning
tried doing a screen shot of it but the image is perfect

??????

Yes I see the cube , check your vsync if its off the cube sometimes looks really wacky. Vsync on should be fine

yep vertical sync is on by default

oh well sticking to the 44.03 for now

thanks for helping

:D

Your welcome too bad I could not help ya fix it, you know I had trouble with omega's right up till the last two sets, but before that I always had a rough time never did figure out why. I am gonna wait till the det 50's are for real, but I am not expecting them to be designed for our cards.

I installed the Omega 1.45.23a today. I was running the official detonator 45.23 and found running Halo beta 1.5 that it was somewhat sluggish and slow. After installing the Omega's I have noticed more smooth gameplay and details are clearer.

Long live OMEGA!!

I also find these OMEGA's very nice glad to see we got another set after all that crapolla a while back.

:)

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
