Desktop shortcut to more than one program

Anybody know of a way that I can create a shortcut on my desktop to more than one program? I've tried several self-made methods to no avail.

You can create a batch file that will open severl programs and create a shortcut to execute the batch file.

in winxp, how 2

could i open a web address with a batch file, like:
win /max "C:\...internet explorer.exe http://www.xp-erience.org/"
cause that would be pretty damn cool, but i have trouble trying cause i can't start up IE from the batch file, so nothing like win "C:\...IE.exe http://..." to try and figure it out (like using batch to open a .txt such as "C:\...wordpad.exe test.txt" if that is correct)
