Hi, I'm new to these forums and you all seem like a bunch of good guys, so I decided to try here for help. So heres my problem.

I have a Dell Dimension 9100 that I bought back in '05. I'm pretty sure my warranty is up but the thing won't turn on. I thought maybe it was the power supply so I went and grabbed a new one and threw it in but the only difference was that the fans would periodically spin.

Heres a little more information about the problem. The green LED indicator on the motherboards turned on no matter which power supply is plugged in. Could it be the motherboard is shot? The processor? I don't have too much experience fixing these things and any help would be appreciated. If you need any more information that you think I left out just ask.:)

Have you tried contacting Dell? I recommend using the Chat Support on their website...it could be anything from a battery to a motherboard issue. They will help you pinpoint the issue and resolve it.

Pretty sure the green LED will be on as long as there is power to the system. Do you get any beeps at all when it turns on? I would maybe suspect the CPU, but it could be the motherboard as well.

Do they still help if your system is out of warranty?

No beeps whatsoever. I played around on the Dell sight for a while, seemed like very limited help with no warranty.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
