I have a hp pavilion 753C-2.53,512MB DDR2100. My question is will my computer take DDR 2700 or 3200 or is 2100 all it will take.

thanks
james

From HPs site:

RAM (standard)
512/2100 DDR (2x256)
Maximum
1 GB
Speed
PC2100/PC1600
Type
DDR
DIMM Slots
Two

2100 is the max speed it will take.
Higher speed memory may work, but it will work at a slower speed.

what mastershakes said could be true, but call HP yourself and ask, it will probably take 2700, as that seems the top-out for most lo-grade pc's that i have worked on.

But it could be higer or lower, you could just go to best-buy buy a 2700, and see if it works if not go and exchange it. (but make sure they will exchange it, most will within 14 days.

Yes... but like master already said... what would b e the point if hes already working with the fastest memory his manufacturer already suggests?

Go with a Mobo upgrade before you upgrade your memory....

my 2 cents..

:)

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
