my friend sent me a video and it is in .dat format and i dont know waht to do with it, can someone help me??

Have you tried renaming the extension to a video format (mpg, avi, etc)? I might be wrong, but don't VCD disks have the video in .dat format? By the way, did you ask your friend what to do with it?

Update: Yeah, you might want to download a VCD player and see if that will play the .dat file.

Windows Media Player (8 and 9) should pick up .dat files automatically.

ok the player did, and by the way this is a video of his final programing project. but thanks for the help

Like Glaanieboy said, just open the file with WMP 8 or WMP 9.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
