dangit~random games exit while im playing them

hey this has been happening recently. for example i might play The sims and then while im playing it closes and comes to the desktop. its starting to piss me off. it also happened with unreal2

I used to have this problem when XP first came out... plugged in a more powerful PSU unit (450W - I think) and added a more powerful CPU fan + 2 new case fans... did the trick..

so could possibly be overheating ?
