Is it normal to still be able to see the screen faintly despite turning the brightness and contrast down to 0?

Also, can anyone recommend a good monitor test program so I can calibrate the colours, black levels, convergence etc?

Thanks.

No software required, just net links:

Adjust using this one.

Then verify using this one.

Use the monitor front panel controls (recommended) or the video card setup page. Monitors will drift with time as they age so check it about every 3 months.

If your monitor is setup right when the monitor is blank you can see the area that the electron beam scans slightly brighter than the surrounding area.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
