creating a partition in XP

Hello,
I just got the Windows XP upgrade (to replace Windows ME), which I haven't installed yet. I want to create a partition on my hard drive and I'm wondering if there's a way to do this once XP is installed (something other than using fdisk), or if I need to do it now (using fdisk while ME is still on my machine) and then do the upgrade. Ideally, I'd like to not have to completely wipe the hard drive and reinstall all my programs, files, etc., so if there's a relatively painless way to create the partition in XP once it's installed, could someone tell me?

Thanks!
D.

You cannot use Fdisk to partition your harddisk and then upgrade from WinME to WinXP. If you want to use WinME to upgrade, then use Partition Magic either before or after the upgrade. With PM you can always adapt your partitions. If you plan to do a clean install, use the WinXP CD to boot, at the installation menu delete (D) the existing partition and create (C) one or more new ones. In WinXP you can also partition (in Disk Management), but only delete and create. Not possible to resize partitions there.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
