create benchmark program!!!

is it very hard to create a simple benchmark program?? thinking of doing 1.... for my college project....

but what criteria and things that i really need to know or understand......... pls!!

or an MSN messenger plugin (u can get stuff to help from microsoft too )

hmm... i almost break my head, it's so hard to think a title...
do a simple driving simulator very hard to do? coz if too simple definitely will be rejected...
