think it's a good idea, but you can post your questions in general hardware if we aren't able to open a new catagory

Yeah, as Perris said General Hardware works, or you can use the Trading Post/Retailer Feedback if you have particular questions about a vendor/retailer.

If you had a thread like that you would need the newsposters to post consumer electronic things as well, such as up and coming products. Interestingly enough, they do that already.
I think its a good idea, you should make a thread failure, then just post your questions and others will two.
