connecting to the internet

I have upgraded to windows xp. After the computer has rebooted and everything is operational again, I can connect to the internet. My internet connection is through a cable modem provided by cox communications. If for some reason I should have to restart the computer, the ability to connect to the internet is lost. I must then use a restore point to get the system back to where I can connect to the internet again. I am using IE6.

You must have a NIC card that requires bridging. Here's what you need to do. Reboot your PC and let it boot up. Once it boots up (the internet should not be working), unplug your cable modem. Wait about 30 seconds or so, then plug it back in. It should resychronize. Then, reboot your PC again. You should have no other problems.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
