Compressed Files? (Blue Filename Text)

I don't have the "Compress drive to save disk space" option checked and the "Compress old files" is set at 500 days since it can't be set any higher but I have lots of filenames with blue text which indicates Windows XP /w XP2 has been compressing them.

How can I uncompress them and prevent this from happening in the future?

Can't you right click the file to uncheck the compress option?

In networking we learned that windows just does that on its own even if it is unchecked. Know one really knows why it does that but it just does.

Windows apparently does something like this to my c drive as it's only 5 gigs (yes too small, I know) and still keeps around 1 gig free despite getting filled with alla kinds of stuff, temp files and so on.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
