Comparision question - video cards

Hey all,

Would like to know if an 8600GT vid card is all around better performing than two 7600GT SLI'ed? Straight up gaming machine that this is for (XP).

No. Toms has charts in different places for SLI and single card but if you jump back and forth you can compare numbers. The 8600GT is barely faster than the 7600GT single card. The jump to SLI blows the 8600 away.

DX10 games under Vista might be different but DX9 there is no comparison. Stick with the 7600's and save up for an 8800GT.
