Common Tasks on Desktop

I really need help.

My PC suffered a hiccup, I reset and when it fired up, the desktop turned out as the jpeg below.

It appears that the Common Tasks menu bar that is usually attached to folders, is somehow appearing on my desktop. I have tried everything I know to try and fix this.

Help would be extraordinarily appreciated.

Yoyo, it worked! Thank you very much, last time that happened, I head to restore my registry to get my desktop back to normal
