I was curious if anyone could tell me how to clear OS's from the boot manager because having to select between XP and previously installed OS's during boot it starting to get annoying. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Right click on “My Computer”, then select Properties, Advanced, Startup And Recovery and click on Setting. Edit the boot.ini file and remove the entries of the OS.

;Warning: Boot.ini is used on Windows XP and earlier operating systems.
;Warning: Use BCDEDIT.exe to modify Windows Vista boot options.
;
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /NOEXECUTE=OPTIN /FASTDETECT

This is what I'm getting. The previous OS was Vista and I can't find BCDEDIT.exe. Thanks though.

Also Vista was installed on a seperate hard drive from where XP is.

Right click on “My Computer”, then select Properties, Advanced, Startup And Recovery and click on Setting. Edit the boot.ini file:

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect

Throw in your XP cd and reboot. Hit your r key and go into recovery.
Enter 1 for your XP C:\ drive. When it asks for password, just hit enter and type the following one at a time

fixboot
fixmbr

press y to agree with fixes. Exit out. Remove XP cd.

The Vista bootmanager should be gone and you'll boot right into XP.
