When I clear the history of my IE there are still some links that show up in the drop down menu on the address bar. Why don't all addresses get deleted or am I doing something wrong?

That's not history that's address. There is a simple way using tools but I can't remember what one. Someone will be able to set you straight.

my bad. Just checked IE/tools/internet options/clear history. That removed my addresses.

If that's what you did then try this>
Start/run/regedit. Control+F. Search for TypedURLs. See what is in there on the right.
