clean cpu die

what should i use to clean some thermal gunk off the cpu die? isopropyl alcohol ok?

alcohol should be fine, just dry it off... people tel me that you can put artic silver over top of artic silver, if thats what your using.

I used alcohol, lots of alcohol. I have to admit, though...I wasn't even close to my CPU.

thanks dudes the alcohol didnt work so great at first so i used some mild nailpolish remover and then finished it off with the alcohol again.

I use foaming bathroom cleaner and Qtips. Also that purple degreaser sold at auto parts stores work well.
