Check disk everytime my computer starts up???

Ok, I have a hotrod computer that I built, but for some reason my checkdisk always comes on when I start it up and checks my "E" diskdrive. There is nothing wrong with my disk drive, but it keeps checking it anyways, and when it gives me the count down to stop it, it won't let me stop no matter what keys I push.
It's driving me nuts.

Thanks in advance
Mike

Are you sure there is nothing wrong with your disk? What is the E: disk used for?

Seems to have caught up in some kind of loop. You could try resetting the default behavior of chkntfs:
Code:
Start>Run>cmd
chkntfs /D

Sorry about posting it here, it still does this. I'm not quite sure what to do.

Hmm...on a similar note, perhaps excluding the drive once and then resetting the default behavior might fix it.
Code:
Start>Run>cmd
chkntfs /X E:
<Reboot>
chkntfs /D

have you let the repair finnish?

have you seen the report?

wether or not the drive is fine, if the dirty but is set, the repair has to finnish in order to reset the dirty bit.

if worst comes to worst, you can turn off autochk...someone will tell you how to do that once you'ce confirmed that you've let the reapair finnish...not just the check, but the repair

Very nice. Glad to help.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
