[e]-Punk asked me to make up some chatroom guidelines:

Chatroom Guidelines:

1) Warez, Cracks and Keys are NOT allowed in the chatroom. There are absolutly no F-Serve bots or other such clients in the chatroom. Do not ask for illegal copies of Windows XP or other software. Do not use F-Serve triggers such as !list or @find in the chatroom

2) Flaming, and other racist or derogatory remarks againt other users in the chatroom. Infracitons will result in immedate ban.

3) Spamming is prohibited. Please do not use the chatroom to advertise other websites or services. Do not post links to pornography, hacking, exploit, warez, or other sites with inappropriate material.

4) Please do not private message (with the IRC /msg command) ops (@), subops (+), or other users if you are looking for technical support. Please state your problem in the public chatroom so everyone has a chance to help you with your problem.

5) Please refrain from use of colored or excessively bold or underlined text in the chatroom. They simply annoy other users, and will not get your questions answered any faster.

6) If you are an mIRC user, please refrain from using heavily scripted mIRC addons, or disable most of the scripting. This includes scripts that respond to in-channel triggers (such as !seen), F-Serve bots (such as Polaris), and scripts that autoformat shortcuts like BRB into a colorful "Be Right Back". Please disable these features.

NOTE: Info about your comptuer hardware can aid in troubleshooting. Scripts that display System Info/Stats (moo.dll scripts) ONLY are exempt from the no color / no script guidelines.

7) Violation of these guidelines will result in a kick or ban from the chatroom. Channel Operators (users with the @ next to their name) may be exempt from these rules at any time.

Post any additional suggestions.

Looks good JJB. There was a lot of horseplay last night with people using scripts. I don't know if it bothers you but I told them it was a tech support channel and if they wanted to play around, do it @ #xsivforce. Some of them went there to play and remained on #xperience for tech support. Nobody quit #xperience to go to #xsivforce. If this is a problem, I won't mention #xsivforce in there.

I think first and foremost we should state No warez, cracks, hacks or keygens. It's kind of hidden in #1 with F-Serve bots

#7 - Add subops (+). It shoud be noted the can, will and do kick, kick/ban people.

I personally don't agree with the no color ban, seems kind of silly really, I mean whats the big problem with it?

The scripts I can see, a problem there, but not just using blue or red.

The only two people in the chat room who don't like it are JJB6486 and catch23.

JJB6486 I can respect his opinion, however, not catch23's.

just my opinion, but if you get rid of the colors you may as well get rid of the /me thingiers as they show color as well, and the system scripts must not be in color either.

I have no problem with simple use of colors in a sentence either, like Hi or Bye
But I see the problem of everyone going berserk with banners, flooders, and colors all over the place. But I can't see the problem with just a colored word in a sentence, or similar.

As long as color is spelled correctly as we have all done in this thread. Right [e]-punk? :p

Chatroom guildlines are too strict, IMHO

Only four rules needed there.

1. No Warez, Cracks, or Serials

2. No Flaming, etc.

3. No spamming or flooding, etc.

4. No excessive scripts.

If you make the rules too strict, people like me will not go there, it's that simple. Right now as written they are too strict.

Guess I'll play in #xsivforce

m00 - this site is based + hosted in UK... so u will comply to UK rules and regulations...
colour is absolutely fine :D

nice set of rules jjb - but we do need to lighten up a little in the chatroom... isn't exactly ment to be like a prison cell... maybe use colours... but not excessive annoying use... and a go easy on a few other things... but yer call...

lol....

I have already been way too generous and given you 'customize' if ou get cheeky and demand 'color' you won't get either :p

I've noticed quite a bit lately (since the site has been back up), people seem to come to the IRC channel instead of posting in the fourm. It's great that people are coming to the channel but doesn't that defeat the purpose of the forums? IMO, people are just too damn lazy to search the forum, they come to #xperience, ask their question and expect us to search for them. BLEH!
Just ranting :p

Happened before too Jewelzz, and our standard answer is:
Search trough the forums :p unless there is something special/urgent that is.

Ok... JJB... you made rules... are they actually going to be put into action ???

Your bots are seriously starting to take the PISS... why have you got protection for all +v ???

If +v start using lame ass colours another op can do jack **** to stop them... any +b on them is useless

fuking take off all protection for non ops/or even ops it is just taking the piss... if the channel DOES have no ops/taken over... it is always given back to original channel owners fs...

[08:04] * agony was kicked by XP_Home (banned: No Unauthorized Bots) ............. Why??

chame|eon can't join either, he's a nice guy and helps out users.

Yes, I said the same thing, he is a real nice guy, his bot does nothing more then log what is said. Whats the harm?

and Mdsalih is correct the voices do not need protection from ops, Jewelzz tried to ban X-istence when he got a smart mouth, but she was unable to ban him, cause the bots protected him. Then he smarted off even more, not good......

I unbanned it several times, even went thru jj's telnet and unbanned it, jj keeps banning it.

Why?
And the kicking or banning or people who use colors is stupid. MdSalih tried to ban [PK] for using colors this morning, utterly stupid!!

comeon... the guy was excessive use... by default mIRC channel background is white...

when someguy comes along with Bright Green text.. .it does your eyes it... utterly not neccesary!

he can change his OWN text on his screen to come out whatever colour he wants by going to colours options... but still keep outgoing text black... but nooooo he wants to be annoying... FS

MdSalih

I just find it easier for me to strip my colors when I'm using mIRC rather then ask everyone who uses different scripts to change their color. To each his own I guess

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
