I have an older gateway P3 733 machine with a CPU voltage of 1.65. Can I use a P3 1GHZ CPU with a voltage of 1.7 as a swap ,or do I need to make adjustments for the voltage somehow. Plugged in 1GHZ CPU, doesn't work.Any and all ideas would be helpful. Thanx-Brad

You might also want to check your multiplier, and FSB.

thanx for the help steveo.FSB is 133 for both CPU and MB. How do I check the multiplier? Regards Brad:)

Get a magnifying lens to carefully look at the mainboard. Most of the info you need is right there, more than you think at first glance. Google holds a wealth of info, and the Gateway Support website may have documentation for your pc.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
