Change Local Admin Password

Hello all, I am new here and I have a question that I have been researching for several days and cannot figure out. Here is the situation:

There was a person at my work who set himself up as admin. on the computer. He was fired a couple weeks back and won't provide us with the admin password. We can access the computer under a limited user account... but from that point, I don't know what to do in order to either find out his password, or to change his password. The operating system is windows xp home. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

does your IT have a copy of Win ERD? If they do borrow it. Thats the quicker. But if they dont then follow KCY link.

Some smaller business still use XP Home that may run in a Peer-To-Peer setup. While it may not be optimal, it still happens usually due to budget concerns.

Hell at this company we still get people that like to save important .xls on there computer in my documents. Its why i do at least 2 data recovery a month

Thanks everyone, I will check that guide and go from there. By the way, I'm a manager of a restaurant, that's why it's xp home. It's just a simple PC used for scheduling and order forms and what not. Thanks again!

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
