CentOS imgburn

I need to create a bootable cd rom for CentOS but I need the .img file to make sure the cdrom can boot from the disc. Imgburn is asking me what type of emulation and what boot img to use. I'm not a linux user so I thought I'd ask here

? did you download the iso image for CentOS?

if so, just burn the iso as it - it should be bootable.

something very minor needed to be changed in the install meaing the iso has been extracted., but I can't figure out a way to get the .img file to use with it.
