Windows Xp Does not recognize my CDRW drive a Burner. It says its a CD Drive, but it recognizes my DVD drive as a DVD drive.
What can I do to change it. I tried reinstalling it but that didnt work. Any guesses?😕

Have you checked for a firmware update from Yamaha for your burner?

My Burning Software does Recognize it.. Will Check for Firmware right now!!

hmm? my DVD/CD-ROM drives are in one section...

and my cd-rw is listed under cd-rom drives too...no problem for me...

but you're talking about the device manager right?

In Device manager it repors it as a Yamaha CDRW then when you click on properties it lists it as a cd/dvd drive.

In Windows Explorer it lists it as a CD drive..
Just wondering why it does this because on my friends computer it list his drive correctly in Device manager and Windows explorer.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
