CD Shortcuts not working

Hi all

I`ve made shortcuts to my CD drives on my desktop but every time I try to use them they fails to work by reporting "shortcut not found" and tries to point me to something totally irrelevant.

The icons work fine in "my computer" so I know the drives are working OK.

Any suggestions plz.

PS: I`m using XP Home+SP1+all latest updates

yeh i had the same for a while now after running some of the windows updates.. not sure exactly which one it was, but was about the time of teh MSblast worm.. so is one of the win updates after that time..
same on my freinds machine, i told him too use windows update for only the ones marked as "critical" now his CDrom shortcuts wont work either

Same problem here and my shortcuts to my disc drives also don't work anymore.

this happened to me when I added new burning software

I finally fixed this by doing a re-install over my XP files. Works fine now.
