Hi all,
I have a problem I can't seem to solve. Every time I try to load a disc (either cdr/ cdrw/ or commercial) into my rom drives (first drive is HP CD-Writer 9100, second drive is Sony DVD-Rom drive DDU1621), my computer attempts to restart. After which time I get that tell-tale blue screen indicating a critical problem had developed and win XP Pro is protecting my system from damage. The interesting thing is that loading a dvd or music cd into the dvd drive or cd rom drive has no adverse effect. Only data cds reboot the computer.
If the solution is to re-install system critical files, how do I do this without the use of my cd rom drives?
Any suggestions? I'm nearly out of ideas myself.
Thanks.
Mike.
