Cd rom auto boot

lo all
coud anybody advise i am running xp pro and my cds are not auto booting i have a cd writter plus a dvd an its the same prob with both any advise please

Right click on the drives under My Computer and make sure that Auto Play is enabled

Thanks for the reply dreamliner77 i have done what you said right clicked on cd rom gone to auto play but cant see where to enable it

Right Click on the drive / Properties / Autoplay tab/

There should be two check boxes
1 that says "Select an action to perform"
and another that says "Prompt me each time to choose an action"

More than likely your 1st box is checked and saying "Take no action"

You need to either select the option "Prompt me each time to choose an action" or choose a specific task.

This should solve your problem.
