my burner used to be just fine, but suddenly now its not in device manager or my computer. in device manager i have my dvd drive (d: ) and some SCSI simulation drive (f: ). when i open my computer i have d: & f: but no e: (burner) drive!! what can i do? thanks!

maybe your cables arent connected all the way?

try looking into your windows updates.

also try updating your firmware if you can.

I'm having the same prob and the cables are all the way in... No cuts or damage to the cables....
So how do i update the firmware when my PC doesnt recognise the burner anymore... Its missing... ARGH!

a lot of firmware updates are still done through dos, although not all.

Or has it got to do in that i've just flashed my BIOS?
so ultimately i'll need to firmware it izzit?

good gosh... i've tried unplugging the cables and plugging it back... doesn't help at all... so what could be more wrong?

cables? its an internal drive, everything is connected

& i can't find any drivers/firmware for sony crx100e

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
