wondering if anyone knows where to get comic script desktops

ie. garfield
brooks or somethin like dat
the comics u see in papers ?

Do you mean..?

you want a comic to display right to your dtop every morning?

oooo.... now that'd be nifty... setup my own comic wallpaper =)

get the dilbert, archie and garfield comics daily on my desktop

well, it is possible to do so. it would take a little coding and the use of active desktop. I am sure the comic could be pulled from garfield.com, etc.

as I said, it is possible, but the code would be in depth (I imagine).

ummm shure, i was just wondering whre to get images :) but dat mbunny came up wit is pretty good. thinkin a prog like sarmari could pull it off, maybe sum VB or c++ ?? i dunno.

As I said, it is possible to accomplish this feat using PHP or even JavaScript.

but back to my orginal post, do u know where to get comic scripts or did u already answer it? sorry ima a n00b

you would have to figure out how a site such as www.garfield.com names the newer comics. there are many sites around the Internet that carry comics (yahoo.com, kingfeatures.com, etc.). So the only key is figuring out how they name the comic (gar10-14-02.jpg, etc.) and using the code to reflect that.

www.ucomics.com is a nice site for leeching...erm, getting comics from, they're usually in the format
ucomics.com / comics / ga (comic name) / 2002 (year) / ga021015.gif (comic name | year | month | day )

that would be so excellent.. someone with the right knowledge should make a example script. :D

Well for PHP you could do this....
PHP:
<?print ("http://www.ucomics.com/comics/ga/"); print date("Y\\/\\g\aymd\\.\g\i\f");?>
which will get you the URL for todays garfield via ucomics, un-fotunately it seems they don't allow external linking of images, if anyone knows of a site that does then that code could be adjusted for it....

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
