For anyone in the U.S. that is old enough to remember Captain Kangaroo

Bob Keeshan, television's Captain Kangaroo, dead at 76 :(

QUECHEE, Vt. (AP) -- Bob Keeshan, who gently entertained and educated generations of children as television's walrus-mustachioed Captain Kangaroo, died Friday at 76, his family said.

The show ran on CBS from 1955 to 1985, and then moved to public television for six more years. The show won six Emmys and three Peabody Awards.
