when i start up my pc there is a message that says:
wrong BOOT.INI,the system must start up with c:/windows/
where is my BOOT.INI?
can i fix it?
thx:confused:

Click Start > Run > Type msconfig
then select boot.ini Tab

What does it say in the top box?
And, is there any of the small boxes ticked?

The BOOT.INI file is on your c:/ drive in the root folder (c:/). This file is checked at bootup to locate where the operation system is that you choose to boot from. If you are running a single operating system then your boot file should look something like this:

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect

If you are running a multipule OS machine then depending on your primary OS and where they are located, this will vary a little

ok,guys its allright!!
i fixed it with win rescue xp!!
but i have another problem!
i just installed the cordless desktop optical from logitech(mouse+keyboard)
they both works fine but when i start up my pc, the icon of i touch(software for logitech) appears and when i moved my mouse over it,it dissapeard!!

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?

Impressed you have kept this alive this long EP! So many sites have come and gone. :(
