It's like... people just post pointless things, for no other reason but to increase their post count. And then people read the pointless post that someone made just to increase their post count, and then everyone feels like their time has been wasted reading some pointless post that had no purpose other than to increase the post count of the person who posted it to begin with. And then, when strange things like database disasters occur, those people who care about nothing but post counts have to start all over, and they are left feeling cold and afraid because all that was dear to them was swept violently away.
