Call of Duty + Catalyst 4.2 = wtf

Picked up Call of Duty, brought it home, played YAY! fun... until the game stopped talking to the video drivers and sat doing nothing. Fixed that by updating to newest catalyst drivers (4.2), which fixed the problem

BUT

brought a new one:
Now, when I adjust the brightness slider in game (because the graphics are all rediculously dull and gray... keep in mind that I could change it before) it does absolutely nothing. If I set "fullscreen" to "no" and apply, the graphics brighten (I still cant adjust the slider) but I am stuck with the useless window border, and my framerate takes a hit.

Is there something obvious I'm missing?
Is there a little tweak to fix?
Should I use different drivers, and which?

ung...any help would be ... helpful :) thanks

i was using 4.1 Omega with Call of Duty, and it was fine..

+Radeon 9600pro 128ddr

Omegas here too, 9800xt.

Try them, they're good.

thanks for the tip - looking into them right now BUT

do you think I should go with the 4.1 omegas because they are tried and true, or should I perhaps try the 4.2 omegas? (ie, are omega's tweaks going to fix my problem, or is it a core catalyst problem?)

thanks again

I had to roll back to 4.1 Catalyst. The 4.2 would crash HW2 at launch and the textures looked much more "grainy". Stick with 4.1 it's a very
good version.

PS Don't waste your time with the omega ot other knock off's, no proven speed improvement and video quality suffered when I tested them.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
