now ive got my network card, i was wondering what kinda cable im going to need to connect the two computers. i want to be able to head into the shop and ask for a '<cable name>' and have it handed to me.

what do i need?

the card is a '10/100 Ethernet Adapters' and the motherboard connection is the same as on the card.

If you have a switch, hub or router then you need a straight-through cable. If its strictly computer to computer then you need a crossover cable.

walk in the shop and say

" i have come for a crossover cable to link my pooters together with my 2 10/100 ethernet cards please "
