cable modem tweaks ?

just got cable, any ideas on registry tweaks or programs and what they do, to inprove speed, or even info on speed?

first tip i recommend is to only have TCP/IP enabled on the NIC for broadband. anything else will only cause problems in the future.

defrag your pc (makes a difference... ive tried it myself)

get latest drivers for the NIC

or finally... get a faster cable connection lol (although i rate that as a last resort )

i improved my cabe speed by 400k just by tweaking my rwin and mtu.

go here and click on tools and then tweak tester. you may need to d/l drtcp.

i've had cable for about 5 years now and havent found any tweaks that make any diff in my speeds
