Buying LCD HD 1080p TV

That's a little on the high side for the specs but it is a good television.

The newer tv's support 1080p @ 60hz so you might want to give them a look :)

you're confused, you mean the new ones support them at 120hz

I have a sony rear projection TV. Does 1080i at 60hz (30hz interlaced). Nothing like watching movies on a big screen :)

This one could be better and it's 6 inches bigger/wider. But it's $300.00 more than the one you posted. On sale at Buy Dot Com. List price of $3500.00 On sale for $2300.00 with shipping.

those two where on my list of possibles from amazon as well.

from what i read they say anything over 51" is a waste

well I did see an awesome 60" Samsung plasma in comet a while back. Only £5999 too! It came up to my neck from floor standing.

i was in bestbuy today and saw some 65" tv's and they are not a waste i can tell you.

but i made up my mind not to get a dlp tv at least, because of the viewing angle.

they had the new xbr5's, but no xbr4's.

i have to say though that that sony's did look the best.

I have an LG 50" Plasma hanging on my Living Room wall. Damn down sized from an old RCA 52" Rear Projection TV. :s But hey, wide screen and HD. Plus I got 3 feet of Living Room real estate back too.

do you ever play consoles on it?

I play my PS2 on it a bunch and hopefully if/when me gets PS3 that will be primary weapon of choice. :D

My TV? It's only a 780p. I don't think you would be interested in this one. Since there isn't any true 1080p programing out, or will be out any time soon I went with cheaper.

Both my HDTVs are 720P, but if I were buying one now I would definitely go 1080P -- primarily due to the recent developments with Blu-ray "winning the war." I still wouldn't be buying a Blu-ray player in the near future on account of prices, but once I was ready I would want to play those discs at their highest resolution.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
