Building a new system!

4 was the theme of the morning

Blah, I would have probably saved a few pennies for Nehalem and the new graphics cards coming out.

That's what I did :)

Plenty fast enough for now, but still money in the bank for my uber-mensch 'puter by end of the year :D

Seriously considering an ASUS board really. Still domn't know about Intel or NVIDIA - I don't intend on going SLI but the onboard sound solution might be better.
Gigabyte or Abit.

X2 or Xfire. Quad core. It scales in step with processor speed. Intel chip, ATI graphics, some of the new AMD 9850's are running 3+ Ghz on air. On 2.7Ghz with my 3870 @ 885 core I can touch 9600 points on 3D06 and am playing HL2:EP2 at 1680X1050 all full high settings driver forced and in game forced with older generation hardware. A C2D running the same speed would get me a couple thousand higher.

Teach me to read a bit further into the thread. Count on 20K + on 3D 06 easy.

20017- Megasty - Q6600 @ 3.6ghz 3870 @ 776 Core 1125 Mem 3870 X2 @ 822 Core 900 Mem - Vista

Joo need water and small peliters for some super awesome quiet performance. 40-50F with small 100 or 125W peliters under water under load with a slow moving fan system.

And last but not least, if you want moar speed get a new Hitachi SAS drive and cheap controller.

I received my cooler, cpu and case today, rest of the stuff arrives monday :D

EP, prepare for epic TF2 battles :D

Damn you both :D

Just wait till my wife stops spending all my money.

That took quite some effort to build, but I am there.
Cranked everything up to max so far, except Crysis - but oh its playable now :D

Just picked up all my stuff.

Hopefully, I will be posting a little later today with my new stuff installed.

I have a workstation motherboard (bought for a specific purpose) that has proven to be finicky with certain types of memory and I am not going to admit defeat to it :D

I will be WINNAR !!!

Adios

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
