my bt adsl voyager 100 modem is currently listed in my 'safely remove hardware' dialog box, and does so all the time. its connected, externally, via usb. i have it as a hidden icon, but its still a pain. is there any way to make the computer think its hardware that DOESNT have to be removed?

The old Surfboard modems NTL used were the same, and I never found a way of removing the icon for it. The icon only appeared when connected through USB, so I don't know if there is a fix.

Without disconnecting it completely, I can't think of a way.

You could always do what I did with my Surfboard. Nip into the Taskbar Properties and set the icon to 'Always Hide'

That way you only see it briefly when you log on and when you click the expand arrow.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
